Collaborations
A divine encounter - collaboration with Tulsi Mata in the Netherlands
It wasn’t long after they met in the summer of 2024 that Swami Probuddhananda Puri and Tulsi Mata started to join their spiritual forces, each with a deep understanding of their shared mission to bring East and West together and to spread the message of unity and love of Vedanta. Both share pure love for Swami Vivekananda.
Tulsi Mata (Holy Mother) has led a universal spiritual community of faith in The Netherlands for the past 40 years, guiding both devotees and students on the path of Self-Realization. The encounter of Swami Probuddhananda Puri and Tulsi Mata was a true example of divine intervention meant to be good and do good to anyone who is open to receive this eternal knowledge.
The same purpose
These are two masters who live and breathe the same purpose: serving the world with love and consciousness. They infuse light and wisdom to sustain the good in this universe, guiding all devotees who are open and sincere in their quest to become the Self and live a life of service. Every word they utter is a concentration of divine energy meant to provide us with the spiritual oxygen we need to proceed; to make us realize that we are not what we think: our ego, our mind and intellect constantly mislead us. Nor are we the body. Our true nature is divine, that is who we really are: immortal and unchanging. And this is what they teach their devotees and students.
To teach Vedanta
When Swami Probuddhananda invited Tulsi Mata to allow him to share the knowledge of the Vedas with her devotees - scriptures she has studied and deeply absorbed for decades - she immediately said: “Yes. As an Indian, Swamiji can do this better than I can. This will be good for my devotees.” And despite her own long-standing service as a Guru, she attends his online satsangs from her own temple - three times a week. These begin in the early Dutch evening, when it is already 10:30 p.m. in India and Swami Probuddhananda has spent the entire day teaching and engaging in countless other activities. By the time the satsang finishes, it is sometimes midnight for him…
Projects for children and elderly
Among their shared activities are the projects Swami Probuddhananda has initiated on behalf of IVS Varanasi, in collaboration with the Sarasvati Mataji foundation, which Tulsi Mata founded in 2016. These activities include support for poor, vulnerable children and the elderly throughout India: from providing scholarships - enabling children to develop further as human beings and as students - to making healthcare accessible for sick, elderly women who previously had no access to it. Many more projects will follow.
Unconditional Love
The unconditional love that Swami Probuddhananda and Tulsi Mata share is palpable and has brought much joy and playfulness into the Dutch community and into the IVS. They show us that the path of Vedanta is a path of love and unity. Both stand entirely in service of the divine and repeatedly emphasize: “We do nothing ourselves; we are merely the instrument, of Sri Bhagavan, of the Supreme Consciousness. Both are tireless in their service. And both teach exactly the same Truth, because it comes from that one reality.
